Why in first place and what to expect?
First of all, let me wish you a warm welcome to my brand new webpage. If you are reading this post, there is a good chance that you are “early bird” visitor, so probably also my close friend or at least an acquaintance.
Taking this into account, I guess first question that you would be probably asking is, why are you writing in English and not in Slovenian, which is your native language. Answer to this one is quiet simple. Number of people using Slovenian language is almost none compared to English users online, so many more people could read it if it is written in English. Also one of my fields of expertise is SEO, or maybe better if we say internet marketing in general. So English is again the most obvious choice, as with Slovenian language you limit yourself to very humble reach of lets say 2.000.000 people. Don’t let me get even started, about more than half of Google tools and Apps not even working, if you use Slovenian as default language.
That much said about my native language and its cons, it is still one of most comprehensive languages actively spoken, and one of very few using not only singular and plural, but also dual left in the world! I think we should be a little proud about that fact but with caution, because too much pride is very dangerous.
Now to the main reason, why the webpage and what to expect. First of all I have an extraordinarily curious mind, so there are endless things that catch my attention. I also really like to talk and spread my findings, so as a consequence I’ve noticed that many people suffer from my constant teachings, lectures, or a friendly advice they get. So to make things right and end their suffering, but still satisfying my need for knowledge sharing and making at least something good in this rather fucked up world, I’ve decided to put it online, in a webpage / blog format. This way anyone can choose to read it, even comment it if they wish, or just ignore it as it would never exist. It’s up to them and even you, but if you came this far you are interested at least to some degree.. =)
There are also some side bonuses that come with having my own website. It’s powered by open source CMS named WordPress, which I also use with our clients ( digitalart.si – this is where I work..). So this way I can test many design and coding features, without playing on actual client site ( I am a designer not programmer, consequently it would be a big no no..), so expect few “beta” versions of site now and then, or don’t be surprised, if one day menu colors are bit different. This page will always be in “beta” stage as it is my playground.. =)
